Destiny Brightman

Destiny Brightman is the Athletic Director at Orange Park High School. She was born and raised in Xenia, Ohio outside of Dayton. Her family relocated to Niceville in the panhandle of Florida where she graduated as a student-athlete from Niceville High School in 1994. She went on to attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) where she also dominated as a student-athlete on the Volleyball court. She graduated from FAMU with a BA in Health and Physical Education and a MA in Sports and Leisure Management. 

In 2003, after graduation, Ms. Brightman began her career in education with Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, Florida as a Physical Education teacher. In 2007, her career progressed, as did her leadership roles, when she took a position with Clay County Public Schools. She started at Orange Park High School and in 2013 transitioned to Clay Virtual Academy.

Ms. Brightman has been an accomplished and well respected volleyball coach for 14 years. One of her most notable accolades was leading Ridgeview High School to a 6PEAT, six consecutive District Championship titles. She is also the Club Director and Founder of 904 Elite Volleyball Club. In addition to her coaching experience, she has served as the Assistant Athletic Director at Ridgeview High School. In this role, she worked with the Athletic Director to establish and implement programs and services to enhance the athletic program and develop student-athletes academically and athletically. The knowledge and experience she gained in this capacity has contributed to the goals and objectives she sets as the Athletic Director for Orange Park High School.

She is excited to establish objectives that will develop relationships to create win-win opportunities with students, teachers, parents, and in the business community to leverage personal growth for student-athletes, and business recognition through athletic events, sponsorships and support of the student-athletic program. Additionally, she will work to build a strong social media presence for the athletic department. She has created social media campaigns to promote all games, athletic events, game cancellations, inclement weather updates, fundraisers, National Signing Day, and compliance reminders for families.

She is the proud mother of two beautiful children Julian and Joi, and she enjoys sports, music and participating in community service.
